Your voice matters. "You Say, We Do" is your space to raise issues, share ideas, and help shape the student experience at AUSA and the University of Auckland. The more students support an issue, the higher its priority — and we take it to the relevant committees or act on it directly. Transparency and student impact are at the heart of this process.

How It Works

1
Submit an idea

Any enrolled student can raise an issue or idea — big or small. It just needs to affect students at the University of Auckland.

2
Students vote

Other students can upvote issues they care about. The more votes an issue gets, the higher it climbs the priority list.

3
AUSA reviews and acts

AUSA assesses the issue for feasibility, takes it to the relevant committee, and keeps you updated on its progress through the status system.

4
Issue actioned

Once an issue has been addressed, it's marked as Actioned — so you can see the real impact your voice has made.

Reduce restrictions on Student Groups' Grant Funding

    Current
This year Student Groups has started enforcing restrictions on grant funding that effectively prevents clubs from spending grant allocations on off-campus events. These restrictions limit the ability of clubs to host events that are either impossible to execute on-campus or would be diminished in value if held there. As I have understood it the rationale behind this decision by Student Groups, is that grant funding from the student levy is intended to foster a sense of community on campus. It is my belief that a sense of community between students can be built regardless of location, and the best way to support clubs, is to reduce these restrictions on club spending.
