The Women’s Rights Officer (WRO) advocates for gender equity and represents self-identifying women students at the University of Auckland. Central to this role is building a welcoming and supportive community within Womenspace, AUSA’s dedicated space for women on campus.
The WRO chairs the Mana Wahine Subcommittee, attends Executive and Student Council meetings, and works on initiatives like the KATE magazine in partnership with the Engagement Vice-President. They also collaborate with AUSA staff and portfolio officers to deliver events and campaigns that empower and support women on campus.
Alongside advocacy through University committees, the WRO plays an active role in student engagement, organising events, and maintaining a vibrant culture in Womenspace. This role is ideal for students committed to equity, representation, and building strong communities. Applicants must be self-identifying women students.
