AUSA Elections are held annually to elect the student leaders who represent the Auckland University Students’ Association (AUSA). These leaders ensure that students’ voices are heard across the University and that AUSA operates democratically and transparently.
How the Elections Work
The election process typically includes:
- Nominations: Students can nominate themselves or others for executive or representative positions.
- Campaigning: Approved candidates share their ideas and connect with students, following the AUSA Election Regulations.
- Voting: All enrolled University of Auckland students can vote online. Every vote counts!
- Results: The Returning Officer oversees the counting and officially announces the results.
We share all key dates for this process with students during Week 1 of Semester 2 each year, so you know exactly when to get involved.

Who Can Participate
- Vote: All current students are eligible to vote in the elections.
- Run: Any student meeting the eligibility requirements can stand for a position.
