AUSA is calling on experienced professionals — particularly those with legal, HR, or diverse community backgrounds — to join its Advisory Board and help guide the strategic direction of the Association.

The Auckland University Students' Association (AUSA) has opened applications for several vacant positions on its Advisory Board, a voluntary governance role supporting AUSA's Student Executive.

Founded in 1891, AUSA exists to represent and build student communities at the University of Auckland, advocating for student voice across campus and academic life. The Advisory Board plays a key part in that mission, meeting roughly every six weeks with AUSA's Senior Student Leadership Team and CEO to offer advice, mentoring, and strategic oversight.

While the Board doesn't hold decision-making power — that responsibility sits with the elected Student Executive — its role is to bring outside expertise and a wider perspective to how AUSA is run. Board members help ensure AUSA has a clear strategic plan, a strong financial position, sound risk management, and high standards of governance and ethics.

No prior experience with AUSA or the University of Auckland is required. The Association is especially keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in law, human resources, or diverse community perspectives.

Applications close 5pm, Friday 31 July. Click here for more information.
