Overview

Dive into some cool tips and tricks to stay safe around water with fun hands-on activities!

Join Drowning Prevention Auckland and the University of Auckland for a fun, interactive full-day water safety experience designed to help you stay safe while enjoying New Zealand's unique beaches, lakes, rivers, and coastal waters.

The day is split into two engaging parts. You'll begin with a classroom-based workshop featuring games, quizzes, prizes, free food, and practical water safety information. You'll then put your learning into practice during a supportive, beginner-friendly in-pool session in the shallow Hiwa pool, led by trained aquatic educators.

No prior experience is necessary, and the event is open to all University of Auckland students. Make sure you bring suitable swimwear and a towel for the pool session.
